Reduce * Reuse * Recycle

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I was able to get a nice weekend along with John to start getting prepared for the chaos that is always associated with the holidays. We managed to get about half of our shopping done on Black Friday. And on Sunday there was a neighborhood 6 hour cookie bake off - there will be cookies heading everyone's way this year! The beauty of baking with others is that cookies get made that aren't your own typical production.

We have really been working this year to make our lives more efficient. One such way was reusing John's grandma's old fence. It was still in good condition, but needing a little paint. We didn't get to the painting this year (wait for spring now), but it did really frame in the yard.

One other major project we've been undergoing is ridding our life of "stuff." I have been in the quest to get rid of my old laptop for a while now. It has been sitting on our cabinet collecting dust. My quest finally led me to a local site called Green Guardian, which then educated me that Dell would recycle my laptop for free - even pay the shipping! So, last Monday I packed my laptop into a box, and DHL picked it up! No hassle for me!

Another great resource in the whole Reduce/Reuse/Recycle quest has been Reduce.org. It is again a local resource, but the info is applicable to people of all areas. Enjoy your learnings!

The snow came on Saturday... it is now officially the Christmas season. Make sure you get your sleep! :-)
