John's Famous! Again!

The Anoka Union paper printed a picture of Michelle Bachmann visiting his school - something that he arranged! Here's the link. John is in the 1st and 3rd pictures if you look close. :-)

Awaiting Spring

Okay, so I know that it's only the end of February, but it really feels like spring is just around the corner. Maybe it's the extra daylight, the melting snow, or the fact that our lives keep filling up!

We've visited a lot of theaters lately...
--Steppingstone Theater for Almost to Freedom, a story about a girl leaving slavery via the Underground Railroad. As a special surprise, one of John's kids as a student teacher was in the production! If you're interested in going, it only runs until March 2, so buy your tickets now!
--We saw Frank Caliendo at the State Theater on February 16 - he was hilarious!
--Tomorrow, we see My Fair Lady at the Orpheum. It is a much delayed Christmas present to John, since this is his favorite musical. Although that may be in competition with Wicked! :-) This show is also done on March 2 in Minneapolis.

I (Becky) started volunteering at the Phillips Neighborhood Clinic - a University of Minnesota sponsored clinic that provides interpreter, physician, physical therapy, and pharmacy interventions free of charge to anyone that shows up. Most of the patients that come have more orthopedic diagnoses, so this stretches my neurological focused brain!

This evening, I am talking to St. Kate's Medical Interest Group about what it takes to be a Physical Therapist - should be fun!

We have both become politics junkies lately. We attended our caucus on February 5th, stayed through the whole event, and John was selected as a delegate to the Senate District 65 Convention on March 1 with one of our neighbors. (I am an alternate.) More to follow on the great democratic process!

And now for a shameless plug: John's second play, "I Remember When," is being performed at 7p on March 5&6 at Fred Moore Middle School in Anoka. It's a story he wrote over winter break about Cinderella, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty in a retirement castle. They all reminisce about their encounters and lost love in Prince Charming. It's really cute, if I may say so myself! If you're interested in attending, just show up! It's a free production!

I am back on the PT student bandwagon starting March 11th - this time I am in charge of two students at once! Ikes! Wish me luck!
